ROHITASH RAO
Rohitash Rao was born in Hyderabad, India. By the time he was 2 he had moved from India to Germany to Southern California. He graduated from Art Center College of Design and began his career as an art director. He worked at several award-winning agencies throughout the U.S. and eventually became a creative director at the SciFi Channel in New York. That’s where his love of animation kicked in. He began shooting short films in his garage and in 2005 one of his films was part of the Saatchi & Saatchi New Director’s Showcase. Besides Cannes, his work has garnered attention from the One Show, D&AD, the Clios, ADWEEK, Creativity, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly and ABC’s “Funniest Commercials.” His short films have played in over 20 film festivals around the world including, TriBeca (New York), Ottawa (Canada), and Annecy (France). He recently just co-authored and illustrated his first children’s book and two more are on the way. He currently lives and works in New York city.
